Bridge-To-Africa Connection, Inc. (BTAC) – JOURNEY SISTAHS
Traveling to another country is a great way to learn more about the world surrounding us. Several Inspirational Women from diverse backgrounds will travel from the USA to Ghana on one of many mission trips to work with the BTAC Family and help change lives “One Child at a Time”.

We as JOURNEY SISTAHS openly embrace the multicultural elements of women from various aspects of life. We are committed to reinvigorating the personal and economic growth of women by empowering them to action. We strive to embrace the culture of our community, the religion of our people, and the relationships amongst us. As we are reaching back, JOURNEY SISTAHS are personally committed to the strengthening of us as Black women while we stand on the Principle of Sankofa!

JOURNEY SISTAHS have worked hard to prepare for its mission in Ghana. Our project goals have expanded Internationally and we are committed to the following projects: Library Project Atasemanso R/C Primary School, Running Into The Future, Electrify Our Village, Computer Lab, Love & Care and JOURNEY SISTAHS Paint Project.

Project #1 – Library Project Atasemanso R/C Primary School

We will focus on providing the school with the tools, resources and items needed for a thriving school library. The Library is currently a shell and we will provide the following:

  • Library Books, Encyclopedias and Dictionary for ages 2-15
  • Repair & Replace the Windows and Doors
  • Paint the Room and Floor
  • Install 2 Fans
  • Lighting
  • Install Book Shelves

Project #2 – Heman R/C Primary School

SHOES – RUNNING INTO THE FUTURE

Ghana strongly supports educating their children and providing them with the tools needed to be successful. Our goal is to help with shoes. Many students walk long distances to school, many don’t have money to buy shoes or often wear shoes that are too small for their feet. We want to ensure they have the proper shoes to help them reach their educational goals in comfort. Our Partners have made this dream a reality: Naptapestry (Lady Gray & Precious McGill), Cool Kids Camp Mr. & Mrs. Wallace, Mr. LM Corley and a host of supporters around the USA.

  • 300 Tennis shoes
  • 100 School shoes for girls
  • 100 Sandals & Summer shoes
  • 250 pairs of Socks
  • 100 Shoes strings
  • and MORE!

Project #3 – Electrify our Village
Atasemanso R/C Primary School & Heman R/C Primary School
Electricity is something we often take for granted as we walk into a home and turn on the power switch without thought. Not everyone has the luxury to have power/electricity.

  • 350 Solar Lights – (30 per classroom) 2 Villages
  • 50 Solar Lights for Educators/Teachers
  • 25 Flashlights
  • 100 Key chain lights

Project #4 – Computer Lab
Atasemanso R/C Primary School
Technology leads the way in 2018 and the new generation of students need computers for research and development. In an effort to keep the children of Ghana current and knowledgeable about the world around them, it’s imperative that they have proper technology.

  • Sliding glass windows and doors to protect Computers
  • 20 Desktop or Laptop Computers – purchased in Ghana
  • Computer/Laptop Cleaning Supplies
  • Programming/Coding Books
  • Supplies

Project #5 – Love & Care
Atasemanso R/C Primary School & Heman D/A Junior High School
Self Care is the best care. Our team has worked with various organization and had several events to reach our goal of providing self care items for 300 children in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

  • Toothbrushes & Toothpaste
  • Deodorant & Body Care
  • Natural Hair Products
  • Baseball Caps & T-Shirts
  • Sanitary Napkins
  • Nail polish

Project #6 – CLASSROOM RESTORATION/ SCHOOL DESK
Heman R/C Primary School & Heman D/A Junior High School
Students often sit on the floor in the classroom and have no desk. Our goal is to make them Champions by providing Desks with Seats.
HANDS ON PAINTING: SISTAHS PAINT PROJECT
There are 6 (six) classrooms to be painted and in an effort to complete the Mission we will work with the Village Community to paint the school.
